Memorabila Displays and Historical Documents

For many years the LSAA desired to display and properly store their considerable Memorabilia Collection of over 350 items, but could never find a suitable location.  In 2009, Shakespeare & Company graciously allowed Displays in their Founders Theater (Gym, 30 items and Hall of Fame plaque) and the Bernstein Theatre (Sports Center, 10 items).  Each Display also has 16 storyboards of text and pictures that tell the Lenox School story.  The entire Collection is currently stored on campus as well.  Trinity Church retains the School’s processional cross; the altar, cross and candles from the Thayer Hall Chapel; as well as plaques removed from School buildings and the rock and plaque from the Howland Memorial Playing Field.

The documents in this Section describe how the effort evolved and provide a description of the desired Optimum Display once adequate space is obtained.  As always members are encouraged to donate their own Memorabilia items to the LSAA for inclusion in the Collection and possible display.

The LSAA Memorabilia Collection was completely reinventoried in April 2011, additional items were discovered, as well as obtained from other sources, and a more user-friendly Inventory produced.  Please take a look at the expanded Collection and see what the 695 items consist of.

We also scanned some of the Collection’s most historic documents, which include documents from the School’s Founders and Headmasters, as well as a few other unique publications and documents for your enjoyment and as a back-up means of preservation.
